Autorickshaw driver arrested after deliberately knocking down motorcyclist in western India
An autorickshaw driver, identified as Salman Sayyed, was arrested in western India's Maharashtra for deliberately knocking down a motorcyclist on a busy road.
The incident took place at Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road in Mumbai on December 17.
A video of the incident shows Sayyed engaging in a heated argument with the motorcyclist, following which the motorcyclist leaves the spot. Salman follows the two-wheeler and takes a sharp turn towards it, knocking the motorist off his bike. He then drives away while the onlookers rush to tend to the man.
The motorcyclist, identified as Kishor Kashinath Kardak, is a resident of the Ghatkopar region and did not sustain any injuries during the accident.
Deonar police traced the accused with the help of his vehicle number and apprehended him. Salman has been arrested under sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 279 (rash and negligence driving) of the Indian Penal Code.
