A woman passenger was arrested for smuggling gold in the form of foil hidden inside chocolate boxes in western India's Maharashtra on December 28.

The incident took place at the Mumbai International Airport.

Visuals witnessing the smuggled items feature gold in the form of thin foils hidden inside a chocolate box. These yellow metals are ingeniously inserted into a cavity made inside the sweet case. The first layer of gold sheet is coated with carbon paper and then with cardboard to trick the scanning device.

The passenger was a woman who arrived from Dubai on Flight Number EK-500. A total of 481 grams (1.06 lbs) of gold in the form of foil has been retrieved from the accused. An investigation into the matter is underway.
