Tourist attractions shut in Indonesia's Padang ahead of New Year's Day

Padang's government have closed all tourist attractions in the city ahead of the new year to prevent further spread of COVID-19.

Around 1,000 police officers are guarding the attractions' entrances and exits. The attractions will be shut from December 31 to January 3.

The city's government have also ordered restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues to close at 7 pm. They have also been ordered to stop and New Year's celebrations.
