Dual Aeromed on the ground to pick up burn victims for a 2nd alarm fire in Girardville, Pa

5 people were rescued from a house fire in Girardville by neighbors.
Girardville Fire Chief Frank Zangari, confirmed the home caught fire around 8:00 a.m. New Year’s morning. When we arrived, neighbors were already using a ladder to helped rescue 5 family members who were on the second floor from the roof of the home.
Zangari says two children were flown to Lehigh County Burn Center while additional family members were evaluated and transported to a county hospital for burns and smoke inhalation.
Firefighters were able to get the fire out with minimal damage to the adjoining home.
A Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate how the fire started.

Life Flight (Aeromed) landed to transport 2 children to the Lehigh regional Burn center.

This fire has been ruled to have been caused by malfunctioning space heater.
