Chickeeduck CEO Herbert Chow Siu-lung has opened a pro-democracy protest branch of Chickeeduck in Hong Kong.

The shop sells protest art and merchandise, designed by local artists, despite pressure from the pro-Beijing camp and at the risk of falling foul of the National Security Law (NSL).

The products are covered with protest slogans and iconography, including miniatures of the Lady Liberty statue- a symbol for the movement, and its own branded clothing items.

Chow says he aims to remind like-minded Hongkongers not to lose hope.

Chow has in the past, faced action in court for his stance.

In her New Year's Day Speech, Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam thanked the Beijing government for the NSL that stopped the pro-democracy protests in the city by providing a blanket law to quell all opposition.
