For the first time this winter, the city of Berlin was covered today (January 3) by a thin layer of snow.

Snow has become a rare sight in the city with people taking advantage and going to Tiergarten and Templehof airport to build snowmen.

Many of the major landmarks had people taking photos in front of them, with the main roads quickly being unblocked and maintained by snowploughs.

While today's snow caused some disruption, it was nothing compared to the blizzard of 2013 which saw most of the city coming to a standstill.
