In a startling moment of role reversal, a home spider is seen devouring a lizard three times its size inside a house in Bhadreswar, West, Bengal, Eastern India.

The video shows the spider hooked on a window pane with its teeth clawed on to the neck of the lizard thrice its size.

The spider initially tries to drag away the lizard but the lizard is gripped firmed on the glass pane making it difficult for the spider to drag its heavy meal.

The spider then decides to stay put and feed on its entire lunch. The close shot taken on the mobile phone shows the spider gradually trying to feed on the lizard thrice its size.

Usually, spiders are prey to lizards but this is the first instance where prey is seen devouring on its predator more than it can consume.

The spider clung on to the glass pane for at least 15 hours consuming the entire lizard and then left the spot.

The video was captured around 3:11 PM on 01st January 2021.
