A cow, which had become stuck in mud overnight after falling into an 8-foot ditch in the Chennai metropolis, was rescued safely by the fire department after a three-hour operation on January 3.

The incident took place near Ambedkar Law College in the Perungudi Kallukuttai area of ​​Chennai, eastern India.

Young people from the area found the distressed animal body-deep in mud and informed the fire station.

A rescue team then hoisted the cow to safety using an extractor and rope before reuniting the cow with its owner.

The youths from the area along with the fire brigade who came to the spot after receiving the information, rescued the cow which was trapped in the mud by the JCP and brought it up safely.

After fighting for about 3 hours, they rescued the cow and handed it over to its owner.
