Police attempt to disperse protesters outside Old Bailey as Julian Assange extradition blocked
Julian Assange supporters outside the Old Bailey were discouraged from protesting (Jan 4) by the Met Police as they awaited the verdict for the Wikileaks journalist fate.
Protesters were issued fines, arrested and other court observers were prevented from entering court, with police citing Covid-19 legislation - drawn up to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Critics say the draconian rules block the fundamental right to protest and curtail civil liberties.
