The Indonesian government have rolled out the first wave of the COVID-19 vaccine for working-age adults ahead of the elderly.

The country is prioritising working-age adults with doses of the vaccine ahead of the elderly due to the lack of data on its effectiveness against the aged population.

The is being watched by the international community who, more often than not, have prioritised the elderly and vulnerable.

The government are hoping to achieve herd immunity and revive the economy.

The distribution of the vaccine is closely guarded by the police, as seen in the video of the distribution of vaccines to the West Sumatra region, where 36,920 were received on January 5.
