Heavy rainfall has hit Queensland, Australia, as ex-tropical cyclone Imogen brings warnings of “life-threatening" flash flooding.

Footage filmed in Normanton in the southeast corner of the Gulf of Carpentaria shows torrential rain on January 3rd and 4th. The compilation also shows aftermath pictures of the damage.

The filmer Jake Daniels told Newsflare: "Extreme heavy rainfall caused the usually rock hard ground to become very soft allowing wind to blow over large trees.

"The cyclone came through at 9 p.m. on January 3rd until 4 a.m. on the 4th."
