This was the moment a daring police officer removed a four-metre-long python from under the hood of an officer's vehicle in Jakarta on January 6.

Footage captured by a journalist following the police shows multiple officers examining the situation before one grabs the reptile and briefly tussles with it after it's initially revealed under the bonnet.

The fearless officer was said to have experience removing the animals, as they are usually found in the crevices of vehicles.

The snake was later given to an animal park to be looked after.

A four meter long python hid under the hood. The hood of the engine was chosen by the snake because the room was dark, warm and safe. For the space snakes it is like a hole in which they hide.
