A doctor removed a giant leech from a man's nose after it lived there for two months in Nghe An, Vietnam.

According to the doctor, the man came to the hospital as he had difficulty to breath and bleeding nose for around two months.

He thought he had a cold and a runny nose and took the medicine. But his symptoms got worse, so he went to hospital for a checkup.

The doctor used endoscopic equipment to check and suddenly discovered a leech clinging and sucking blood in the man's nasal passages.

The doctor removed the giant leech out of the man's nose quickly, but his nose was damaged by the leech as it sucked his blood and needed a few days to recover.

The patient said that he went to a stream with his friends and washed his face with the spring water about two months ago which might cause the leech getting into his nose.
