Neighbours carry man’s house to a better position as rain batters Philippines
This is the moment a group of neighbours in the Philippines helped carry a man's house to a safer position as heavy rain and flash floods hit the area.
Footage shows several men standing on each side of the wooden house to lift it up in Surigao del Sur province on January 8.
Onlooker, Tubigan, said the neighbour had just finished building his hut and wants to take it to a better spot because he was concerned about the approaching storm.
He said: ‘It had been raining but everyone was willing to help to make him feel better.’
Bayanihan is a Filipino tradition where villagers will help out a neighbour who decides to move his house to a different place.
In return, the house owner will serve food to the volunteers who carried their home.
