Neighbours gathered today (January 10) at a home in the Indonesian city of Padang to comfort a couple whose son went missing in the Boeing 737 passenger plane crash on Saturday (January 9).

The missing man's name was earlier confirmed as Angga Fernanda Afriyon, a barge captain who has a wife and one-week-old baby.

After tracing signals from the aircraft flight recorder, Indonesian authorities say they have now found the location of the missing Boeing 737 which had 62 people on board.

The aircraft disappeared from radar four minutes into its journey to Pontianak in West Kalimantan province.

A resident of Padang City, West Sumatra Province, became one of the reported passengers on Sriwijaya Air, SJ 182 aircraft crashed in the waters of the Thousand Islands, Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Passenger named Angga Fernanda Afriyon, is a barge captain. He flew from Jakarta to Pontianak, because there was a call of duty from the office. Anga left his wife and first child who was one week old.

After receiving information about Anga's disappearance, his family and neighbors came to Angga's parents' house, in the Sungai Sapih area, Kuranji District. Angga's father, Oyon, could not help but feel sad knowing the condition of his son who had not been found. Anga is the second of four children, yang known as a good person and familiar with the family. The family hopes that Anga can be found soon.

Previously, the Sriwijaya Air plane, flight number SJ-182, was declared to have lost contact around the waters of the Thousand Islands, while flying from the airport Soekarno Hatta Jakarta, heading for Pontianak City. The aircraft carried 53 passengers and 12 crew. Until now, search efforts are still being made. None of the passengers and crew have been found.
