A zoo in Vadodara in the Indian state of Gujarat held a birthday party for of its 2-year-old hippo named Mangal.

The keepers at Sayaji Baug Zoo, who see the hippo as their own child, cut a special cake to celebrate the animal's birthday on January 9.

They're also seen passing balls of food to the animal and his mother named Dimpy.

Special sweets ( Laddu) were given to Mangal and his mother Dimpy on the occasion .
Mangal caretaker Moti bhai Raval says that Mangal is like a family member , we cut a special cake for him , celebrating Mangal birthday is like celebrating his own child birthday .
Cake cutting was done bhai Moti bhai and other animal keepers .
