Rocks and mud flowed across a hillside road as nearby mountains were eroded during the northeast monsoon in the Philippines.

A backhoe was needed to clear the debris left after the mudslide in Baras, Catanduanes on January 9.

No one was hurt in the incident but the road was impassable until the next day (January 9).

Heavy rain has been battering the region since last month and has caused floods which have submerge several provinces in the Bicol region.

The state weather service said the continuous rain was caused by a frontal system and the surge from the northeast monsoon.
