Rare snow appears in northern mountains of Vietnam

The temperature is minus 3 degree celsius and snow started falling on early Monday morning. Snow covered rice fields, house roofs, destroyed vegetables and killed dozens of cattle.
Vietnam, a Southeast Asian country, typically encounters a tropical climate with annual average temperatures ranging from 22 to 27 degrees Celsius. However, the northern highlands have witnessed frost and sometimes snow every winter in recent years.
