Fees Must Fall Students march to NSFAS offices

Students from various universities across South Africa to march to the offices of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) in Wynberg, Cape Town, to hand over a memorandum of demands related to the funding of tertiary education in South Africa.

The students, from various institutions and political organisations, marched from Kenilworth station to the offices of NSFAS escorted by a contingent of police.

NSFAS was placed under administration in 2018. Amongst the demands were the restoration of meal vouchers to students who live off campus and the faster processing of student allowances. They are also demanding the funding of free education from Grade R to PHD.

The crowd was addressed by current and former Fees Must Fall student leaders Sinawo Tambo, Masixole Mlandu and Fasiha Hassan.
