This morning at approximately 1:00 AM, CHP officers were in pursuit of a black Honda Civic that failed to yeild for a traffic stop. The chase began around Van Buren Blvd in the Riverside area with the suspect heading eastbound at over 100 mph. The driver continued at a high rate of speed and driving erraticly using both sides of the road until he reached the I-215 where he proceeded to take the freeway southbound for a short distance. The suspect exited the freeway near Harley Knox Blvd in Perris and continued eastbound on Ramona Expressway where he began driving on the wrong side of the road, proceeding eastbound in the westbound lanes and reaching speeds of 120 mph. The pursuit came to an end and the suspect taken into custody in front of Soboba Casino at the intersection of Lake Park Dr and Soboba Rd in the city of San Jacinto where the suspects vehicle appeared to have been stopped by a pit manuever. It's unknown at this time what officers attempted to traffic stop the suspect for or what his motives were for fleeing dangerously from officers. The pursuit lasted approximately 15 to 20 minutes ending at about 1:20 am.
