A gold mine exploded in eastern China leaving 22 workers trapped underground.

The video, filmed in the city of Yantai in Shandong Province on January 12, shows rescuers searching on site to try to find the trapped miners but are still unable to contact them.

According to local reports, the accident was reported to the local emergency department 30 hours after it happened as the company realised they could not conduct rescue work on their own.

The rescue work is still underway. The video was provided by local media with permission.
