Walking on South Straddie ocean beach Karina and I found what we THOUGHT was a dead sea snake. Being a little more cautious than usual I didn’t pick it up which was a good idea as it started moving its head. It had probably been beached when the tide went out and it wasn’t in the best shape. Got a big stick and thought it wouldn’t hurt the poor fella if I tried to get it back into the ocean. After a few attempts to get it into water, the snake certainly woke up and quickly recovered - and the last we saw of it was when it swam out and into the blue. Later learned that it is quite a species

Walking on South Straddie ocean beach Karina and I found what we THOUGHT was a dead sea snake. But the snake moved its head and we thought we’d give it a second chance by helping it back into the ocean. Was great to see it swim away into the surf!
