Watch this remote control car bounce up and down like a real lowrider

This small remote control car has been modded to replicate the movements of a lowrider-style car that bounces up and down theatrically.

Footage shows the car using all wheels and its tiny suspension to raise itself up and drop back down.

It imitates the real-life modified cars that have a customised lower body and hydraulic height-adjustable suspension.

Filmer and mastermind behind the RC mod Dimitar Tilev of SuperScale2020 explained: "I invented an innovative RC suspension system that using a microcontroller and servo motors gives RC models an extremely realistic look."

Creating his own tech, dubbed the "SS mod," Tilev has developed a new dimension to the RC modding community and sells his wares online for people to download and 3D print themselves.

"I started with the stock model and added servos that link to the suspension for each wheel.

"I 3D printed brackets that hold the servos to the chassis.

"Then I installed my SS module, which controls the servos based on realtime calculations and accelerometer input.

"The unit is also connected to the radio receiver so it can receive the inputs from the remote control and from then on it's the SS module simulating the motions.

"This is just one of the modes and types of cars it can control.

"There is also firmware for: drift cars, off-road vehicles and my custom-designed 3D printed 1/24 die-cast chassis."

Developing the tech last year and showcasing it on YouTube, the video went viral in the community and many people suggested that he commercialised the idea.

"I've only been involved in RC and microcontrollers since late 2018 when I wanted to see if my idea would work.

"After it became viral and people suggested I sell the tech, I created 'SuperScale2020' and have been offering the SuperScale Kit for exactly a year so anyone can add an active suspension to his model.

"The plan for the future is to get a big company interested so we can create a ready-to-run model incorporating the technology," Tilev explained.

The footage was captured on January 13.
