Footage has emerged of a camel fighting event in Pakistan.

In the footage, captured in Rajanpur, a city in south Punjab, earlier this month, crowds of people watch as camels fight in the centre of a ring.

“This is a traditional local event which people participate in for enjoyment,” the filmer, Haroon Rashid Toor, later wrote online.

“Camel fighting or wrestling is a common game of agriculture in the south Punjab area of Pakistan. Camels are specially trained and fed to fight. The owner of the winning camel is rewarded with money or land.”
