An adorable video has emerged from the US of a sea lion pup fast asleep on a sea-doo.

In the footage, captured on Balboa Island in California on Tuesday, the placid pup can be seen enjoying an afternoon nap on the moored watercraft.

“He wasn't moving and I couldn't tell if he was breathing, so to make sure the little guy was alright, I rubbed his head to see if he would wake up,” the filmer later wrote online.

“He woke up alright; the pup almost bit me! After the confrontation, the sea lion continued sleeping. He was a tired little guy!”
