Twin baby elephants spotted strolling alongside mother in Sri Lanka
Twin elephants were spotted strolling across a forest cover alongside their mother in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka on the afternoon of January 8. The incident took place in the Minneriya National Park located in Rambawilla.
A video witnessing the incident features a herd of elephants grazing in a pasture. An elephant is seen walking across the forest cover along with her twin babies. The infants, seemingly inseparable, walk beside their mother and cherish her protection.
The family munches on the greens and expresses delight by wiggling their trunks as they graze through the pasture.
The six-month-old twins are an attraction of the National Park and are the first pair in the region. However, their mother struggled to feed them as she was unable to produce sufficient milk. But, according to Dr. Sumith Pilapitiya, the babies have moved onto the second stage and can munch on the greens now.
