This was the shocking moment a crowd at a bull-taming event in India's Tamilnadu region went wild after a police officer was sent flying by a raging bovine.

Footage shows the crowded event on January 16, where police officers are seen using heavy-handed tactics to control the masses.

The officers control the crowd, pushing them back and creating a channel down the road.

The raging bull is then seen running full speed towards a part of the crowd who successfully avoid the beast.

Unfortunately, it smashes into a police officer, sending him flying into the air.

The crowd instantly goes wild and runs over to the officer on the ground as the bull makes its escape.

The officer was later taken to a hospital for treatment.

Suresh is a cop who works in gudiyatham police station that comes in Vellore district of Tamilnadu.

He was assigned duty to control the cops during the bull taming event that happens in gudiyatham.

When he was controlling the crowd suddenly a
brown bull, adorned in bells and flowers had rammed right into the policeman, lifting him with its horns and carrying him nearly 10 metres before he fell to the side. Stunned passers by could be seen rushing towards Suresh as the animal makes its escape.

Later he was taken to the nearby hospital for treatment
