Footage captures an Ohio boy’s hilarious reaction to finally seeing colour, including the adorable moment he realizes his dog is white and not brown.

Hunter's parents discovered he was colourblind at the age of five when kindergarten testing revealed he was having trouble with colours.

A subsequent test with an optician revealed his deficiency was quite severe.

Up until this point Hunter had progressed through preschool with ease and so the decision was made to carry on about life.

Two years later in July of 2020, the family was planning a trip to the beach and Hunter’s mom, Rachel Shepherd, was struggling with the fact that he had never really seen the ocean.

She decided to give colour-blindness glasses a try and as can be seen by Hunter's overwhelming reaction in the video they worked.

Hunter takes extra care of his special glasses, and his family is in the process of getting him a pair for the indoors.

Speaking about the video Rachel said: “Hunter went through two years of preschool with ease.

"We didn't know he couldn't see color till kindergarten testing when they came out and said he had a little trouble with the colorblind test.

"So [we] took him to the eye doctor anyway and sure enough he wasn't seeing anything in those little color dotted papers!

"We went on about life because what do you do about something he doesn't know any difference to anyway?

"Then we were planning a beach trip and I, as his mother, couldn't get over the fact that he's never really seen the ocean or the neon lights of the strip at night.

"So I ordered them for overnight shipping just to see if they worked! They obviously did!”
