SPECTACULAR BEARDED VULTURE DROPS LARGE BONE
A bearded vulture is seen carrying a large bone and dropping it on the ground to try to break it so he can eat. Bearded vultures feed mostly on bones of dead animals to ingest the bone marrow. When the bone is too large to swallow entirely they break it by dropping it at accellerated speed . They can do so several times till it breaks.
The majestic bearded vulture is a huge bird , wingspan 2.8 meters.
It is quite rare to see them and even more so to see them break bones.
