A wild elephant was spotted strolling amid a busy road in Sri Lanka on January 10, causing traffic to part to avoid the wandering animal.

The incident took place in the Ambagaswewa region near the Minneriya National Park, as video of the scene shows the elephant wandering along the road edge, eating greenery.

The mammoth mammal kept shifting its position from the sidelines to the middle of the road while trying to cross.

Somehow, the elephant crossed over to the other side of the road before approaching a bus. The bus operator hurriedly took a sharp turn to avoid the animal.

However, it was disclosed that the elephant was being fed by passersby on the road which made it linger in the region for longer durations.
