Rapunzel Makeup Tutorial Tangled and Tangled scene recreations
I spent my lockdown doing a makeup tutorial and recreating scenes from Rapunzel, a story about a girl who knows all about being stuck inside! She is the character from the famous Bothers Grimm's fairytale about a girl locked up in a tower, which we all have experienced over the past year being locked in our own towers. This look is based on Rapunzel from Disney's version of the story, Tangled.
I loved recreating some of the scenes which I did all in my living room while being locked inside, and did my best to do justice to the movie of this much loved princess who probably inspired a lot of people during the last year as the Princess of lockdown. For the intro I spent about 4 months, and taught myself green screen and SFX to get the result that I wanted. Definitely kept me occupied during lockdown.
For the makeup I tried doing the makeup as movie accurate as possible, and used different techniques such as Japanese makeup tricks to get her big animated eyes without needing a filter. I also found some amazing paint themed makeup to use to create the look, since Rapunzel is a painter!
Fun facts:
Rapunzels kingdom in Disney's Tangled is called Corona
Donna Murphy, who does the voice of Mother Gothel (the villain who keeps Rapunzel in the tower), was born in Corona, New York.
Disney Tangled had its 10 year anniversary in 2020, the year Corona broke out.
