Storm Christoph battered York as the River Ouse bursts its banks at 4.4 metres high.

The clip filmed today (January 21) shows the local pub, The Lowther, pumping out water with floodwater surrounding it and neighbouring properties.

The River Ouse is expected to peak early tomorrow morning at 4.8 metres according to local media.

"As if COVID hasn't it hospitality hard enough. Reopening costs due to flooding, plus lost revenue and the uncertainty of the pandemic could mean the end for some businesses," the filmer Haley Pugh told Newsflare.
