This is the harrowing moment rescuers battled to remove a man’s hand after it was stuck inside a coconut peeling machine.

Nattawat Onnuam, 23, was routinely putting the coconuts inside the machine when his skin was pinched in Chachoengsao province, Thailand on January 18.

He shouted for his colleagues who immediately unplugged the machine but part of his hand was already stuck inside.

They called the rescue team for help who tried to widen the gap between the bars where his hand was.

The volunteers used a cutter and a steel pole to force the machine to open up while medics waited on the side.

The worker’s hand was freed after almost half an hour. He was given an oxygen breathing mask to calm down while the medics assessed his injuries.

Nattawat was rushed to Bangpakong Hospital where medics said he was fortunate not to have any broken bones.

Nattawat wounds were treated and he was discharged that day after thanking the rescuers.
