Unhealthy air quality in Chiang Mai,Thailand
Most of Chiang Mai is experiencing unhealthy air. An aerial view of the city shows the extent of the smog which is blamed on crop burning and vehicle emissions being trapped by cold weather. The air pollution air quality index (AQI) for the las 48 hours shows PPI 2.5 at a minimum of 38 and maximum 167. The WHO considers a safe PPI 2.5 level to be 25 to be a safe level while Thailand considers the PPI 2.5 safe level as 50.
PM 10 levels for the last 48 hours range from 16 to 85. The WHO considers under 20 to be safe.
