Heartwarming footage captured the moment 5-year-old Elsie Rogan reacted to the news that her mother is having another baby.

Elsie and her father Curt Rogan were waiting outside the Countess of Chester Hospital as required by national lockdown rules in the UK when Laura Hughes stepped out after her checkup.

Laura then handed little Elsie a card which contained a printout of her early scans.

Elsie took a moment to realize what she was looking at and then proceeded to adorably ask her mother if she was having a baby.

When Laura confirmed that a baby was on the way Elsie was overcome with joy and excitement about becoming an elder sister.

Curt and fiancé Laura are childhood sweethearts and will find out the sex of the newest member of their family in about six weeks.

Speaking about the video Curt said: “I captured the heartwarming moment our five-year-old daughter discovers her mother is pregnant.

"We waited outside the hospital as our country is in national lockdown.

"We met her mother at the entrance and that’s when she revealed the baby scan photo to her.

"The news took her by surprise, which followed with so much happiness.”
