Rare and protected flower Rafflesia Tuan-Mudae blooms perfectly in the Maninjau forest reserve in Agam Regency, West Indonesia, Wednesday (20/1).

Head of the Agam Natural Resources Conservation Resort, Ade Putra, said the flowers measure 87.7 centimeters in diameter and are male.

"The flower was found blooming when KSDA officers assisted six Padang State University students doing research and internships at the KSDA Agam Resort," Ade said.

According to Ade, this flower only blooms in a period of 7-10 days, after which it will wither and rot.

At this location, the rafflesia Tuan-Mudae flower bloomed with a diameter of 111 centimeters on January 1, 2020.

That's the largest recorded and documented Rafflesia flower in the world.

Rafflesia tuan-mudae, which is mainly found in Sarawak, is from the same family as the largest flower in the world - Rafflesia arnoldii.
