A street vendor in Bangkok can make awesome Pad Thai noodles in under a minute.

Footage shows how the woman, who works from a shabby trailer with a gas canister, rustles up the national dish of Thailand with a few deft flicks of a spatula.

She begins by dropping prawns – an optional extra – onto a sizzling hot pan before cracking an egg and mixing in noodles. Piece of tofu, small dried prawns, sugar, crushed peanuts and chill powder are also tossed into the mixture.

Within a few moments the tasty meal is ready to be eaten – all for the sum of 40 baht (1.33 USD).

Demonstrating how to make the Pad Thai again, the woman also adds bean spouts and spring onions. Both are optional added ingredients.

To finish the serving, she wraps the noodles in a fried egg which is served on top, sunny side down.

Customer, Supang, said: ‘She makes the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had. It’s better than any restaurant.’

The woman works from a street in the Huai Khwang area of the Thai capital. Her main customers are office workers from several large tower blocks nearby who visit for their lunch.

The dish Pad Thai was created in the 1930s by former Prime Minister Plaek Phibunsongkhram as a way to boost national pride. The stir-fried rice noodle recipe has since become one of the country’s national dishes and is served at many restaurants in Thailand.
