A 4x4 breaking the ice along a flooded road in Yorkshire today (Sunday 24th January). Newton Lane in the village of Fairburn in North Yorkshire, became flooded on Thursday (21st January) when the River Aire burst it's banks, after Storm Christoph brought high winds & heavy rain to many parts of the UK. The road is still flooded today and has since become frozen due to recent sub zero temperatures. A man used his 4x4 to break the ice and eventually got through by driving in reverse. Motorists became submerged and had to abandon their vehicles after attempting to pass through earlier in the week and the road was closed.
