A winter storm brought snow to Las Vegas on Monday (January 25), a rare occurrence in the entertainment capital of the world.

The filmer told Newsflare: "This was filmed right by Black Mountain in Henderson, Nevada. This mountain sits at about 2700 feet in elevation with the peak being over 3,500 feet in elevation. This was leaving the trailhead. It really started to snow and stick to the ground."

It's a rare occasion when we get snow, but we do. Being the high desert sitting around 2000 ft in elevation.

This was taken up by Black Mountain Trailhead where I hike. Las Vegas is the desert, but it's the high desert sitting at 2000 ft in elevation at the valley floor. Once you head towards the suburbs you go up in elevation making Black Mountain Trailhead around 2700 ft in elevation.
