A car burned as police clashed with anti-lockdown protesters in Eindhoven, Netherlands, on Sunday (January 24).

Riot police tried to break up the banned protest against the Covid-19 coronavirus lockdown restrictions but were reportedly pelted with rocks and fires being set in the streets of the city.

Officers responded with tear gas and water cannons, arresting at least 30 people during the protests.

Violence continued for a second night as furious residents protested against strict Covid-19 lockdown measures which are affecting the economy.
