Professional knife sharpener and chef uses Japanese blade to make light work of grapes

Professional knife sharpener and chef Joakim Frost from Copenhagen has demonstrated how an extremely sharp Japanese knife can make light work a trio of grapes.

Footage from January 24 shows a chopping board from above, Frost then brings the knife across the lined up grapes and easily goes through each one with them hardly moving due to the sharpness of the blade.

After cutting them in half he takes another stab at them and slices the top so thinly that the grapes' flesh is translucent.

Frost said online: "This is absolutely just for personal enjoyment and fun,

"[I] don't keep an edge like this on most of my knives.

"But because I work at a Michelin starred restaurant there actually is some very precise knife work that is made 100 times easter, faster and better just by using an extremely sharp knife."
