British Tourist on a Safari holiday in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa enjoyed a once in a lifetime encounter with the endangered Black Rhino.

The often skittish, one ton bruiser, was spotted by the keen eyed Brit, hiding behind some bushveld. Sightings of this magnificent giant have become incredibly rare as poaching has devastated the species over the last two decades. The demand in the East, particularly Vietnam and China is incredibly high for rhino horn. Despite the abundance of specialist APUs (anit-poaching units) across the country, the $3000 a pound prices have attracted large numbers of sophisticated poaching syndicates. It is estimated that there are less than 5000 black Rhino left across the dark continent.
