Performing bear rescued and rehabilitated in sanctuary in Pakistan
Maya the Asiatic black bear was rescued in 2016 from a cruel life where she was held in captivity and forced to perform on the streets of Pakistan.
The clips, filmed in 2016, show Maya dancing for money with a ring through her nose until she was rescued by World Animal Protections' partner group, the Bioresource Research Centre in Islamabad.
Following her rescue, Maya spent time in quarantine while she was checked over for medical issues and in April 2017 she was released into the safety of Balkasar sanctuary grounds in Punjab.
