A speeding train smashed a motorcycle after an impatient biker attempted to cross a level crossing in Bharwari, Uttar Pradesh, India, on January 24.

The CCTV footage shows the biker leave his motorcycle on the ground next to the track before stepping back as the train smashes the vehicle into pieces.

As the train was too close he quickly changed his mind and retreated leaving his motorcycle behind. The train ran over the motorcycle smashing it into pieces showing the fate the man would have suffered if he had not pulled back in the last minute. The incident happened on Jan 24 (Sunday) and was filmed by CCTV camera installed at the crossing by the Indian Railways.

Local media reported that the incident occurred at Annapurnamma Peta station in Rajahmundry in Uttar Pradesh . But on January 27 Rajahmundry Railway Police issued a statement saying the incident did not happen at Rajahmundry but warned that people illegally crossing tracks when gates were closed would be handled strictly. A Rajahmundry railway officer said the incident had probably occurred at Bharwari in Prayagraj-Kanpur section in Uttar Pradesh when Northeast Express train passed. “We need to verify with local authorities where it happened as there are tens of thousands of crossings like that,” he said.
