Cyclists battled through chilly floodwaters on a Yorkshire road today (January 21).

Newton Lane at Fairburn Ings remains submerged from Storm Christoph which caused the nearby River Aire to burst its banks last week.

Newton Lane at Fairburn Ings became flooded when Storm Christoph brought heavy rain to many parts of the UK on 18th January causing flooding to some areas.. The River Aire bursts it's banks nearby, leaving local roads flooded and unpassable. Footage filmed today (31st January) shows cyclists riding through the icy stretch of floodwater which was almost 2ft deep in parts. All the men who cycled through the flood, took their socks off to wring out the water.
