A couple from Chennai, India, tied the knot in a unique underwater wedding ceremony.

Chinnathurai and Swetha travelled to Puducherry where they were dressed in scuba gear and sent 60 feet under water.

During the underwater ceremony, the bride and groom exchanged garlands and a necklace was tied around the bride's neck.

The newlyweds were given a bouquet by the scuba diver and later had a wedding reception in a hall.

Chinnathurai and Swetha who work with an I T company in Chennai. They decided and planned their wedding in a different manner.

They wanted to wedlock under water. And so they just went to a Scuba trainer Mr.Aravind who hails from Pondicherry to make arrangements for the big day.

The wedding area was decorated with flowers from underwater.

They bride and the bridegroom wore all the safety equipment s and they got down into the waters for 60 feet deep. Exchanged the gardlands according to Hindu tradition. The bride groom tied the mangalsutra around the bride's neck(The tradition of tying a scared thread).

Later they were given bouquet from the Scuba trainer. And they later had a wedding reception in a hall inviting all the relatives.
