CCTV footage has emerged from China capturing the moment a woman appeared to steal a dog from a street in front of a small boy.

In the video, captured on a security camera in a town in Hebei Province earlier this month, a woman can be seen approaching the dog in a small, three-wheeled red car.

The alleged 'dognapper' then loiters for a short while, before she bundles the animal into her car and drives off.

The young boy then starts to chase the car before running back inside his home.
