A wild deer which fell into a 50-foot-deep well was rescued by forest department officials with the help of villagers in central India.

The rescue took place on February 2 at Deoli village in Madhya Pradesh.

The deer was first noticed by Villager Pratap Singh when he went into his farmland and found the fallen deer in a well.

Pratap Singh immediately informed the forest department which after hours of rescue effort were able to use a rope pulley to lift the deer out.

The animal then retreated back into the forest after being freed.
