Hundreds gathered in Sydney's Martin Place on Wednesday (February 3) to protest the military coup taking place in Myanmar.

Footage shows hundreds of protesters with flags, banners and placards as they march in the city.

Additional clips show various speakers announcing their grievances to the crowds.

Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi was detained by police on February 1 when the military took power.

Since then it was announced by the military junta that Aung San Suu Kyi would be facing charges over breaching the country's import/export laws and possession of unlawful communication devices.
