A man attacked his female relative with an axe in southern India's Telangana on February 1.

The incident took place in the Meerpet region of Hyderabad, after the man was previously arrested for misbehaving with her.

CCTV footage of the incident shows a woman standing at her residence's entrance with another woman carrying a child.

She hands over the child to her and engages in conversation. Within moments, a man enters the scene on a white two-wheeler and pounces on the woman carrying the child with an axe. The woman runs into her home and tries to retaliate, but the man doesn't budge.

The onlookers gather around to behold the experience while the other people of the house chase the man away. He hurriedly mounts his two-wheeler and flees the scene.

The 26-year-old accused, identified as Rahul Goud, was arrested by the Meerpet police on January 2 for misbehaving with a female relative. He was out on bail when he went to the victim's house and attacked her with an axe.

The woman sustained injuries on her palm, forearm, and shoulder. She was given medical attention and is out of danger. Moreover, an attempt to murder case has been registered under Section 309 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused.
